Buyer's guide

Mortgage presentation software, chosen properly

The tools in this category all promise the same thing: loan options a client can understand and act on. They differ on seven axes that matter and a hundred that do not. Here is how to compare them, with real published pricing, checked August 2026.

What this software does

A borrower presentation platform turns a loan file into a client-facing decision: two or three options side by side, the total cost over the years the client will own the home, and a clear recommendation. The old way was a rate quote in an email. The category exists because a client who can compare options decides, and a client holding one number goes shopping.

The generation gap inside the category is interactivity. Legacy tools produce a document, sometimes with a recorded video on top. Newer tools produce a live link where the client moves the numbers themselves. That one difference changes most of the axes below.

The seven axes that decide it

1

Time to a client-ready strategy

The biggest hidden cost in this category is your own hour. Tools range from a full manual build with every field typed by hand to about sixty seconds from a property address.

Ask each vendor: from a cold start, how long until a client is holding the link?

2

Price, and what the price actually includes

Published individual pricing runs from $79 a month to $150 a month. The sticker is only half the answer. On some platforms the LOS connection and analytics sit on an enterprise tier quoted per seat.

Ask: what is on my plan, and what moves to a sales conversation?

3

Whose brand the client sees

The deliverable is a marketing asset. If the vendor mark dominates the client-facing piece, every share promotes the vendor. If your name and photo carry it, every share promotes you.

Ask: open a sample client link. Whose logo is biggest?

4

Learning curve

A tool your team will not open is a subscription, not a system. Screens-per-task is the honest measure: some builders ask you to type every field per scenario, others start from an address and fill the rest for you.

Ask: how many working sessions before a new advisor sends their first strategy?

5

Integrations

The data has to come from somewhere. MISMO 3.4 file import covers any LOS that can export the standard file. Direct LOS connections are stronger but are often the feature that gates the enterprise tier.

Ask: how does a real 1003 get in, on the plan I can actually buy?

6

The client view on a phone

Clients open these links on a phone, usually at night, usually next to a spouse. A pinch-and-zoom PDF and a made-for-mobile interactive page are different products. Interactive views let the client move the numbers themselves.

Ask: send me a sample link and let me open it on my own phone.

7

Video, and what stands in for you

You cannot be in the room when the client decides. Some tools answer with a recorded video walkthrough, some with an interactive model the client explores on their own, and the strongest answer is both: your face in the link and numbers the client can move.

Ask: when my client opens this at 11pm, what does the tool say on my behalf?

Mortgage Coach (TrustEngine)

The category pioneer. Large lenders standardizing many seats on an Encompass-connected workflow, with the wider TrustEngine platform around it.

WealthLens vs Mortgage Coach

Mortgage Maker AI

$79 a month billed annually

Solo originators who mainly want faster, cheaper generation of the classic presentation format, with white-label branding.

Homebot

Roughly $125 to $300 a month by tier

A different job: automated home-wealth digests that keep a past-client database engaged between transactions. Pairs with a point-of-sale tool rather than replacing one.

WealthLens vs Homebot

MBS Highway

About $200 a month on published tiers

Market intelligence and content, and we recommend it. It answers what is happening in the market. A presentation platform answers what this client should do. They stack well.

Afordal, MyHomeIQ, and the long tail

Roughly $125 to $250 a month across published tiers

Single-slice tools: a comparison view, an equity alert, a co-branded realtor touchpoint. Worth a look when that one slice is the whole problem.

Questions buyers ask

What is mortgage presentation software?
It is the tool a loan officer uses to turn loan options into a client-facing comparison: two or three scenarios side by side, total cost over time, and a recommendation the client can act on. Modern platforms deliver it as a live link the client opens on a phone, and the newest ones let the client adjust the numbers themselves.
How much does mortgage presentation software cost in 2026?
Published individual pricing runs from $79 a month at the budget end to $150 a month for Mortgage Coach, with enterprise tiers quoted per seat above that. WealthLens Standard is $99 a month or $999 a year, with a 30-day trial for $1. Retention-focused tools like Homebot publish tiers from roughly $125 to $300 a month. Figures checked in August 2026.
What should a solo loan officer look for in a borrower presentation platform?
Three things decide it for most solo advisors: how fast a real file becomes a client-ready link, whether the plan you can afford includes the data connections, and whose brand the client sees on the deliverable. Run one real client file through each trial before you decide.
Is loan comparison software different from a CRM?
Yes. A CRM manages the relationship: contacts, follow-up, pipeline. Loan comparison software builds the point-of-sale deliverable that wins the deal inside that relationship. Most advisors run both, and the presentation link is what the CRM sequence sends.
Can my client interact with the presentation?
On most tools the client receives a static analysis, sometimes with a recorded video walkthrough. WealthLens ships an interactive Sandbox instead: the client moves the down payment, rate, or term on their own phone and watches the math update, and you see the engagement the moment it happens.

The only test that counts is your own file.

Guides shorten the shortlist. A real client strategy, built in about sixty seconds, ends it.
